100Gbps DWDM and router tests in NIIF network
NIIF Institute (NIIFI, the Hungarian NREN), recently completed a set of 100GE tests on their hybrid network. Although the hybrid network itself has originally been anticipated and planned to serve only 10 Gbps and 40 Gbps lambdas across the country, the successful tests of NIIFI proved that the network, which has been built in late 2010, is capable of handling also 100 Gbps. This has been the result of a set of experiments by mixing the traditional 10 Gbps and 40 Gbps transponders with 100 Gbps coherent detection transponders.
