IPv6
IPv6 service
The aim of the IPv6 service is to provide IPv6 service to the member institutions of Hungarnet and to connect them to the GÉANT2 IPv6 network. You can read about its introduction at NIIF IPv6 Introduction Project.
The aim of the routing of the HBONE IPv6 is to perform two tasks:
- the network creating tools have to communicate with each other. This task is carried out by the OSPF v3 protocol in IPv6.
- and routes learned by outer routing (or static configured ones) have to be announced to each other, that is the tools and the AS connected to HBONE have to communicate with each other. In case of IPv6 this task is carried out by iBGP, slike in case of IPv4.
In HBONE the processing of the backup routes works with the help op of OSPF. The HBONE tools will be available through secondary routes if the primary is down
The change between routes and transfer to backup link is also processed with OSPF.
