NIIF Institute offers ADSL service for Registered Researchers. ADSL service provides fast Internet access through either analog or ISDN phone lines.

Key ADSL service features:

• at least 2048 kb/s download and 192 kb/s upload speed,
• flat, usage-independent monthly fee,
• phone apparatus availability when accessing network.

Even though the service coverage has continuously been improving, ADSL is not accessible from all phone connections. Availability information can be found at http://adslkereso.t-com.hu/.

The cost of the service, where the price is guaranteed until January 18, 2007, is 6800 Ft+VAT/month. The price is slightly adjusted in January each year, and it may vary corresponding to the official consumer price index. No initial cost is charged.

To register for the service the following form needs to be completed, and sent back in two signed copies to NIIF Institute (H-1132 Budapest, Victor Hugo u. 18-22) either via courier or personally. HUNGARNET membership is the only registration pre-requirement.

To use the service the following technical conditions should be met:

• either analog or IDSN phone line,
• computer configuration meeting at least description detailed in Contract Appendix 1,
• Ethernet network card.
