Videoconference service

In the framework of NIIF videoconference service a modern, IP based - thus free - and standard based videoconference network infrastructure and related services are available for the Hungarian higher education and research community, ensuring effective cooperation and communication of geographically isolated research groups. Our video network now features around 140 meeting room terminals spread all over the country, and a compatible desktop videoconference system is available to be used with a computer and webcamera.

Service technical details:

  • IP based, H.323 standard compatible videoconference network,
  • Multipoint video- and audio conference (Multipoint Control Unit, MCU), in up to high definition (HD) quality,
  • Phone number based dialing (gatekeeper network),
  • International connection to research and education video networks (Global Dialing Scheme, GDS),
  • Dial in from PSTN (mobile and land lines),
  • Streaming and recording of videoconferences,
  • Desktop conference for Windows, Mac and Linux platforms,
  • User support and consultation.

The above services are freely available to any HUNGARNET member organisation.
